FOOD ART WEEK, COMBINING FOOD AND ART TO PROMOTE POSITIVE CHANGE
 

The Food Art Week, curated by Tainá GuedesEntretempo Kitchen Gallery will focus on a wide range of contemporary art and dining experiences. There will be a central art exhibition alongside performances, dining experiences, workshops, screenings, and much more. This year’s theme “Vs. Meat” approaches topics such as human and animal rights, feminism, conscious consumption, environmental issues and sustainability. It calls attention to the political, social, and technological aspects of the meat industry. Food Art Week is initiating important conversations about contemporary issues using the power of art and sensory experiences with food. Our selected artists, activists, filmmakers, chefs and scientists will present diverse perspectives which ask the viewer to reimagine a different and better world.  

Some of the artists, chefs and collaborators that will cook, create and exhibit at the FAW 2017 are Uli Westphal, Jorge Chamorro, kate hers RHEE, Iara and Tainá Guedes, Naoko Yasukochi, Panis et Circenses, Rodrigo Braga, Lenora de Barros, Ayrson Heráclito, Tabea Mathern, Maansi Jain, Jasmine Guffond, Sustainable Food Academy, Food Surplus Entrepreneurs, Barkin’Kitchen and many others.

Initiator of the FAW is Entretempo Kitchen Gallery, an interdisciplinary art space in Berlin, which researches and explores food in a cultural and social context.
