In the series “Bread, stone, eyelid" (2013-14), traditional French bread is juxtaposed with barbed wire, rocks and obstacles. One day, as I picked up a stone from the garden of a residential building in Brasilia, the building’s security guard reminded me that the stone belonged to the building. I then started to appropriate material used in the construction of walls and for delimiting spaces. The stone is used as a weapon in popular riots. Bread, in its religious symbolism, refers to compassion and sharing, but it is also a popular food. Poetics is found in the access and precariousness of the materials //website
